Jared Berry is on faculty at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School, where he conducts the Bel Canto Chorale, Himphonix, Women’s Chorus, advises the Liturgical Music ensemble and Note-orious, a co-ed a cappella group, and teaches music theory (introduction and AP). During the summer, he serves as assistant director of administration and a member of the faculty at the New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA) School of Choral Studies, a summer residential program which brings together seventy high school students across the state to further study vocal arts. Choirs under his direction have performed at ACDA conferences, Carnegie Hall, Chautauqua Institution, and received high accolades at Music in the Parks competitions.
Outside the classroom, he is the Manager and a singer in the Long Island based choral ensemble eVoco Voice Collective. Previously, he was the Concert Music Director and Chorus Master for the Blue Hill Troupe, a New York City based theatre troupe presenting high quality theatre performances while raising money for charities.
Prior to his return to Long Island, he was music director and conductor of the University of Georgia Opera Theatre production of Pirates of Penzance, founding artistic director of the Menxs Glee Club Varsity Singers, and assistant conductor of the Menxs Glee Club, Womenxs Glee Club, and University Chorus.
Mr. Berry serves as the Repertoire & Standards Chair for Male Choirs and Webmaster for the New York ACDA, and also as the Honor Choir Chair for the 2016 Eastern Division Conference. He received a master of music degree in choral conducting from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor of science in music education from Hofstra University.
